Morning all,
I am feeling better each day and thought I would pop a few articles on our blog for you to read. Please do, when you have a moment to do so.
One is about dogs and the other is about space travel. Diverse, well written, short, both could be of interest to you.
Article one - 'Dogs can cry...home' - Dogs can cry when owners come home, study suggests - BBC News
Article two - 'NASA ready to...Moon exploration' - Artemis: Nasa ready to launch new era of Moon exploration - BBC News
Please make some comment about either or both articles in the comments section below. What do you think? Do you agree with article one? Do you like the idea of Moon travel in article two? Whatever you think, just write away.
Remember, please use Google Chrome to do so, as that seems to yield the best results.
If you are commenting as 'anonymous', please get into the habit of saying who you are, so I can respond to you by name wherever possible.
See you next Monday at 1pm, in our new room - F16.
All the best,
Mark
Very interesting articles- two completely different topics. The article on dogs was very short, straight to the point. I've always thought that animals shared very similar emotional traits to human beings. I didn't particularly pay attention to the moon article as I'm not really fussed about space nor going to the moon. It was a very detailed article going back on history and studies.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam and welcome to the blog! Yes, I agree with you. Sometimes I receive presentations from Science students (mostly from the Animal Care or Animal Biology and Conservation classes) on communication and animals, whether it can be taught, learned, acted upon, understood etc. I feel we certainly CAN communicate with animals, through various means. Quite a neat wee article that. I have always had a distant fascination with space, and that topic has come up before in a STEM class. Incidentally, since I posted that article, the mission has been postponed for a while, due to technical issues. Something they would definitely wish to avoid. All the best and thank you for your measured response. Mark
DeleteThe first article was nice and an easy read, but the second article piqued my interest more. I find it surreal that astronauts could be visiting Mars in the 2040s. Although part of me believes this large amount of money, time, and energy should be spent on improving our planet, I can’t help but be intrigued at the prospect of future discoveries.
ReplyDeleteThanks Abbey. That's a valid point regarding how money can best be spent, absolutely. I was watching the coverage earlier and it is sure is an exciting time. They were talking about this prospect in the 1970s, as a possibility. Fast forward 50 odd years, and... great stuff and thank you for your comments. Mark
DeleteI loved the second article all about the mission to the moon, I love space so this really interested me that hopefully if the near future, trips to the moon could now actually be possible. I really liked all the different images showing all the different sections of the rockets they are using.
